Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Museum Exhibits, the Exhibition Technician assists in the installation and maintenance of galleries and exhibitions. Activities include a range of duties related to exhibition preparation and management, exhibition maintenance, and graphics support museum and organizational needs. Position Type: This is a full-time, benefit eligible position that will work in-person at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY. The hourly pay range for this position is $17.00-19.00 for a 35-hour work week. Benefits associated with this position include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, medical/dental FSA, retirement, and paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays). Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assists Collections staff with the installation and de-installation of permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. · Provides estimated equipment, time and materials needed to complete projects. · Assists with the maintenance of Museum of workshop and helps to ensure safety standards are met. · Assists with the installation and setting of lighting for exhibitions, including maintaining good working order of the track lighting fixtures.
· Transports exhibition furniture to offsite storage and maintains inventory of all non-collection related storage objects.
· Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting various museum departments, museum annual events and other programs. |
