Job Overview
We seek a motivated Curator-Archivist-Researcher to care for our collections and research relevant topics at our small but vibrant Historical Society in Seneca Falls, NY. The ideal candidate will have a passion for history and community engagement, combined with experience in managing museum collections. He or she will have the ability to work with a team, manage multiple projects, and develop strong relationships within the community and with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Museums, Archives, Public History, or a related field.
Experience: Relevant experience as a museum curator or researcher within a historical organization is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The Curator-Archivist-Researcher shall:
1) Be responsible for the coordination, execution, and administration of the collections and archives of the Society, including:

3) Be responsible for the coordination, execution, and administration, of research requests to the Society, including:
4) Contribute and update content for the Society’s social media and articles to the newsletter, social media, and website;
5) Assist with tour duties, programs, and events, when required;
6) Assist the Executive Director to develop and execute collection, archival, and library protocols and methods;
7) Assist the Administrative Assistant with social media and web research obligations;
8) Assist with operations of the Society’s Gift Shop, when required;
9) Perform other duties as may be directed by the Executive Director.
