The Admissions Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the admissions department at Genesee Country Village & Museum. This role ensures an exceptional guest experience by managing ticket sales, supervising admissions staff, and optimizing front-line operations. The Admissions Manager will support efforts to increase attendance and lead efforts to streamline entry processes implement customer service best practices.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervise and manage the admissions team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee daily admissions operations, ensuring smooth and efficient ticket sales and entry processes.
  • Monitor and analyze attendance trends, ticket sales, and visitor feedback to improve operations.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to admissions, ticketing, and guest services.
  • Collaborate with marketing and membership teams to promote ticket sales, special events, and membership programs.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, including cash handling, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ticketing software and other admissions-related technology.
  • Address visitor concerns and complaints, providing prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with museum policies, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Museum Studies, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in admissions, guest services, or front-of-house management, preferably in a museum, cultural institution, or tourism setting.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in ticketing software, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work weekends; holidays and evenings as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the museum ground in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary: The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
