Executive Director

Pelham Art Center - Village of Pelham, NY
Salary: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 Annually
Application Deadline: N/A

ZRG Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Pelham Art Center (PAC) in the search for an Executive Director.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be a dynamic, versatile, and highly collaborative leader and the Pelham Art Center's chief public representative, charting its course for the future. The ED will provide strategic leadership, vision, strong financial stewardship, and organizational direction across education, exhibitions, and broad community engagement, while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that advances Pelham Art Center's mission.

The Executive Director will build upon the Center's strong reputation by expanding audiences, strengthening community partnerships, and developing innovative programming that reflects emerging artistic practices and the evolving needs of the communities it serves. This includes advancing education initiatives, exhibitions, public programs, and opportunities that increase access for underserved populations while maintaining the Center's commitment to artistic excellence. The Executive Director will be able to connect with a broad professional network throughout the Tri-State area, enabling the recruitment of exceptional artists, teaching artists, curators, and partners to support the Center's diverse initiatives.

The Executive Director will be primarily responsible for core development activities, including corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grants, major donor cultivation, the annual appeal and membership management. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will also support the planning and execution of Pelham Art Center's two signature fundraising events each year: the spring gala and the fall fundraising event. Through strategic leadership, community engagement, and strong financial stewardship, the Executive Director will ensure the long-term sustainability and continued growth of Pelham Art Center as a vibrant cultural resource for the region.

The Pelham Art Center is a non-profit educational and cultural institution committed to a welcoming, accessible, and vibrant space for people of all ages and walks of life to explore, experience, and engage with art and art-making. It provides unique opportunities to learn and enhance artistic skills and practices. With community at their core, they welcome participants of diverse backgrounds to foster connections and encourage the open exchange of ideas.

At the Pelham Art Center, they believe art should be accessible to everyone. Through their wide array of classes and workshops and outreach programs, they bring hands-on creative experiences to people of all ages - from toddlers to seniors - both onsite at PAC and in partnership with schools, community centers, and local organizations. Their offerings include painting, ceramics, digital design, fashion illustration, animation, printmaking, and more - always tailored to the needs and interests of each group they serve. The gallery is free to visit and open to the public seven days a week, and accessible to disabled visitors. Exhibition openings are also open and free to all. PAC serves approximately 12,700 people who live in southern Westchester County and the northern Bronx and works with more than 300 artists and artist educators each year.

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least ten years of experience, including experience supervising personnel, is required for this position. The Pelham Art Center will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to PAC, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and resume. Cover letters should be responsive to the mission of Pelham Art Center and the responsibilities and qualifications specified in the position prospectus.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. Pelham Art Center offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including health insurance, a 403(b)-retirement plan with employer match, free classes for employees and family members, discounts on shop and gallery purchases, and generous paid time off.
